What "Buying Reddit Accounts" Actually Means

When you buy a Reddit account, you receive login credentials (username, password, and where applicable the associated recovery email) for a Reddit account that already has months of age, prior post and comment karma, and a history of subreddit participation. You log into the account with those credentials and use it from there.

The accounts are useful because fresh Reddit accounts hit a wall when they try to do anything substantive: most active subreddits run AutoModerator rules that auto-remove posts and comments from accounts under a minimum age and karma threshold, Reddit's rate limits are tighter on new accounts, and account history shows in the user profile for anyone clicking through to check. Aged accounts skip those filters because they already meet the thresholds.

How Credential Delivery Works

After payment clears, the dashboard shows the account credentials within minutes: username, password, and recovery email where the account has one attached. Some tiers include a screenshot of the account's profile page at delivery time so you can verify the karma and age.

A 72-hour login warranty applies: if the credentials fail to log in (account suspended pre-handover, password rejected), replacement is provided at no charge during that window. After 72 hours, the account is fully on your end and bans from your activity are not covered.

First Steps After Receiving Credentials

The most important advice: do not immediately change everything. Log in from a clean IP (not VPN that pings as datacenter), browse for a few minutes without doing anything, and let the session look normal. Then change the password to something only you know.

Do not immediately mass-post or comment in 20 subreddits. The account's normal posting cadence is part of what Reddit reads when deciding whether something is off. Spread your usage out, post in subreddits similar to the account's existing history, and let the change in style be gradual rather than abrupt.

Not changing the password

The seller had the password at handover. Even with no malicious intent, leaving the password unchanged means anyone in the supply chain still has access. Change the password to something only you know after the first successful login.

Using the account for vote manipulation while logged in

Reddit's enforcement on self-voting is much harsher than enforcement on receiving external votes. Do not upvote your own posts from accounts you own; use upvote services instead.
